13-year-old girl struck by vehicle on N. Main

ROCHESTER - A 13-year-old girl was injured on Thursday when she was struck by a vehicle on North Main Street.

Rochester Police say the accident occurred around 4:15 p.m. in the area of 224 North Main when a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Blake Labonte, 22, of Rochester, struck the victim.

Police said Labonte had swerved to the right to avoid striking another vehicle and was in the process of stopping when the incident occurred. Police said the vehicle was traveling at a very slow speed and that the girl's body had impact with a vehicle tire.

The victim was transported to Frisbie Hospital with what were described as nonlife-threatening injuries.

The vehicle was not damaged and was able to be driven from the scene.

This accident is still under investigation by Rochester Police Department.
