MILTON - Two people were injured trying to break up a knife fight at a downtown Milton residence last night, a residence police say they have visited frequently in the past.
According to Milton Police, they were asked to respond to 559 White Mountain Hwy. around 8 p.m. on Thursday for the report of a stabbing and multiple victims.
When police arrived they arrested two residents of the house: Roman Czepyha, 28, for felony reckless conduct; and Matthew Shattuck, 19, for possession of alcohol by a minor and disorderly conduct.
According to Milton Police, it was found the two males who were arrested had gotten into an altercation and that Czepyha had grabbed a large kitchen knife, whereupon Shattuck had drawn a small folding knife from his pocket.

As others in the house tried to break up the fight, one man who stepped in received a large cut on his forearm police described as nonlife-threatening, and a female received bump and bruises to her chest, head and wrist, said Milton Police Chief Richard Krauss today. He said both victims were transported to and later released from Frisbie Memorial Hospital.
Czepyha is being held on $2,500 cash bail pending an arraignment later today, while Shattuck was released with an arraignment scheduled for next month.
Krauss said officers have had to respond to the residence several times in the past for outstanding warrants, fighting and domestic incidents.
The Milton Police Department’s investigation into Thursday’s altercation will continue, Krauss said.
Also responding to the scene Thursday night were officers from Middleton and Wakefield Police departments, New Hampshire State Police Troops E and A, and the Strafford County Sheriff’s Department.
