ACTON - An Acton man arrested on Saturday in a domestic violence assault later threatened a Sheriff's deputy with a knife during a confrontation with the officer before being taken into custody.

Keith Dubois, 41, was arrested for aggravated domestic violence assault and violating conditions of release for a previous firearms arrest.

The incident began around 9 p.m. when York County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a report of a domestic assault that occurred in the 200 block of Milton Mills Road in Acton.

Upon arrival, Deputy Corey Sweatt found a victim in her vehicle in her driveway with a swollen forehead and bleeding profusely from her nose.

Soon after talking with the victim, Sweatt was confronted by Dubois, who while holding a knife ordered the deputy off his property.

Another deputy then joined Sweatt, and Dubois was taken into custody without further incident.

The victim was transported to Southern Maine Medical Center for a possible broken nose and to check on the swelling of her head. She was treated and released.

Dubois is currently being held at the York County Jail on $2,000 bail. He is scheduled for his initial appearance today in Springvale District Court.

The domestic assault is a Class B felony punishable by up to 10 years in state prison.
