MILTON - A bald eagle sighting was one of the highlights of Saturday's Branch River Paddle organized by Moose Mountain Regional Greenways.

The heralded and much-loved national symbol was seen guarding its nest high in a pine tree on Northeast Pond, the northenmost pond of Milton 3 Ponds.

Several cedar waxwings also delighted participants of the canoe and kayak excursion which was organized to showcase MMRG conservancy land along the Branch River.

The Branch River Paddle is one of MMRG's most popular events throughout the year.
