ROCHESTER - The additional 195,000 square foot that will officially be added to the Ridge Marketplace during a ceremony Thursday at City Hall will be marketed to cinema, restaurant and retail interests, the marketing director for the complex developer said on Tuesday.

"The Phase 2 of the Rochester project is slated for entertainment and retail; nothing committed at this point, but we are targeting cinema, restaurant and retail tenants as our primary focus," said Waterstone Retail marketing director Jen Fairfield.

A 310,000 square foot retail, entertainment and restaurant footprint had been announced at an April groundbreaking event at The Ridge, so an additional 195,000 in square footage is thought to be significant.

So far tenants committed to the project are Market Basket, Hobby Lobby, Marshalls, Petco and the newest addition, Famous Footwear, which will occupy about 5,300 square feet.

The complex is set to open in April, though Fairfield said it's likely some stores may open earlier.
