ROCHESTER - A mammoth six-months sewer-rehab project that began last month will continue into late March of next year.
As work progresses city residents and businesses directly affected will receive advisory notices in advance, according to a Tuesday release from the city of Rochester. The notices will include important information about the rehabilitation process, temporary service disruptions, parking restrictions (if applicable), and when sewer service will be reinstated following a shutoff.
"During the work, residents may experience a temporary loss of sewer service, typically lasting several hours," the release states. "Advisory notices will also provide clear instructions on how to prepare, as well as contact information for spokespersons with National Water Main Cleaning Company," which is contracted to complete the project.
Sewerage cleaning is already under way will run through Oct. 17.
Liner crews will then work from late November to early January, and a grout crew will work from mid-January to mid-February.
The final phase of the project will feature a rehab crew that will work from March 2-27.
The total cost of the project was not released.
