ROCHESTER - A Rochester woman arrested twice in one week on prostitution charges faces a year in jail after being charged with contempt for violating bail conditions associated with the first offense.

Victoria West, 42, of 69 Congress St., Apt. #B, was charged on Friday with prostitution and related offenses and contempt, a Class A misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail.

The first incident occurred on April 12 when an officer investigating suspicious activity in a vehicle parked on a side street off Chesley Hill Road allegedly found West and a “john” in the act, Rochester Police Det. Sgt. Anthony Deluca said today.

Cody P. Craig, 22, of 18 South Fuchsia Dr., Rochester, was charged with soliciting prostitution and bailed on $1,000 personal recognizance pending a May 19 arraignment.

Rochester Police then used an undercover officer in West’s second prostitution arrest, in which formal charges were filed on Friday.

Deluca said police will be continuing their sting activity in an effort to diminish the presence of known prostitutes in the city.
