Crowbar-wielding man robs Rochester gas station

ROCHESTER - Police say a man wielding a crowbar robbed a Rochester gas station earlier today.

The incident occurred around midnight at the Shell Station at 130 Washington St. when it was reported that a male entered the store and demanded that the employee give him money from the cash register.

The suspect then fled on foot south of the store with an undisclosed amount of money.

A K-9 unit searched the area, but was unable to track the suspect.

He is described as a white male possibly in his late teens or 20s about 5'05"-5'09" tall with average build and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, pants and dark mask.

Rochester Police are asking anyone who may have information about this crime that could assist with the investigation to call Detective Christopher Mangum at the Rochester Police Department at 330-7129.
