ROCHESTER - The owners of The Ridge Marketplace have teamed up with movie-theater operator O'Neil Cinemas to present four family-friendly drive-in movies to filmgoers starting this weekend. O'Neil's 'Drive. Dine. Rewind.' will feature popular classic films projected on a 40-foot screen located outside at The Ridge and Brickyard Square with outdoor food and concessions available.
A similar drive-in venue will be offered Waterstone Property's Brickyard Square in Epping "So many parents and grandparents nostalgically remember what going to a drive-in movie was like when they were kids, which is what we are bringing back," said Josh Levy, co-founding principal of Waterstone. "More than watching a movie in your car, we want to give families a safe way to enjoy the summer nights, do something fun and share the magic of drive-ins with a younger generation." Following is O'Neil's 'Drive. Dine. Rewind.' film schedule:
- Sunday, August 2, 2020, at Brickyard Square--E.T.
- Sunday, August 9, 2020, at The Ridge--Goonies
- Sunday, August 16, 2020, at The Ridge--Back To The Future
- Friday, August 21, 2020, at Brickyard Square--Jurassic Park
Ticket prices for each film will be $30 per car, regardless of passenger count, with gates opening at 6:30 p.m. and each film starting at sundown. Tickets, foods and concessions should be purchased in advance at www.DriveDineRewind.com. Guests are urged to come early, park their cars, and browse the drive-in concessions and nearby Ridge & Brickyard restaurants and retailers--many of them offering special promotions on movie nights. "With families everywhere looking to get out of the house in a responsible and safe way, we expect our drive-in movies to be popular," said Dan O'Neil, Executive Vice President of the local and family-owned O'Neil Cinemas. "The City of Rochester and Town of Epping couldn't have been more supportive of our idea to safely bring people together and relive a nostalgic American pastime. It should be a great and memorable four nights of fun."
Only about 100 cars will be allowed at each showing.
