ROCHESTER - Ethel Cormier, 89, of McKinley St. died Sunday, March 23, 2014, at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness.

Born July 29, 1924, in Gonic, she was the daughter of the late Lincoln and Eva (Boothby) Brown.

Ethel was a lifelong resident of Rochester. She was employed for many years at the Mayberry Shoe Co. as a stitcher until her retirement. She enjoyed quilting, spending summers at the lake house, and winters in Florida. She cherished time with her family, including many grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. Nana Banana is loved to the moon and back.

Members of her family include her daughters; Peggy Roy and her husband Robert of West Stewartstown, Caroline Higgins and her husband Leslie of Florida and Pamela Cormier of Rochester, six grandchildren; Michelle Huckins, Michael Bedell, Eric Patten, Robert Roy, Aimee Tierno and Tara Muzzey, fourteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, she predeceased by her five siblings and her husband Roger Cormier in 1997.
