SANFORD - The family of Kerry Malanya Rear has upped the reward to $10,000 for information that leads to the whereabouts of a Sanford woman missing since Jan. 22, it was announced during a press conference at Sanford Police Station on Tuesday.

Rear, 40, was last seen on Jan. 22 leaving the Lil'Mart in Sanford on foot. She was disorientated and in stocking feet and may have gotten into a vehicle.

She is described as 5'6" and 135 pounds with thin color blue eyes and blonde shoulder-length hair.

She has two tattoos: a braided vine and flowers on her right ankle, and a flower on her left hip. She was last seen wearing a black puffy winter jacket with hot pink hood liner, scarf, brown pants, and stockings. Anyone who thinks they may have helpful information is asked to call Sanford, Maine Police at 207-324-9170, Ext 227.

Earlier this month a tracking dog picked up Rear's scent and led police from the Lil' Mart through the Berwicks and Rollinsford, N.H., into Dover before police suspended the track due to traffic and safety concerns.

Police say the new knowledge kindles hope she is alive and well and refocuses their search to the Dover area.

The family of Kerry Rear is offering a $10,000 reward to the person who provides direct information which leads to the safe return of their daughter, alive, while the $5,000 cash reward remains in effect for any information which leads to the whereabouts of Kerry Rear.
