ROCHESTER - A Farmington woman was injured on Thursday afternoon when her motorcycle collided with an SUV at the intersection of Chestnut Hill, Cross and Governors roads.

The crash drew response from Rochester Police, Fire and Frisbie EMS personnel, after which it was determined that Sharon Brooks, 46, of Farmington was riding her Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on Chestnut Hill and had stopped at the posted four-way stop sign where the three roads meet.

Police then say Brooks entered the intersection to go straight onto Governors Road and was struck by an Audi SUV operated by Melissa Goslin, 47, of Middleton, who was coming off Cross Road. The collision caused Brooks and her motorcycle to go down, sliding into the front end of a third vehicle, a Kia that had stopped at the stop sign on Governors Road.

Brooks was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with unspecified torso injuries, while Goslin was issued a summons for failure to yield.

The Rochester Police Department would like to remind motorists that motorcycles are more difficult to see at times and ask that you check twice to avoid a collision.
