Fatality in Route 202 collision was Acton man

LEBANON - State Police say an Acton man was killed on Thursday night when his car collided with a pickup truck in Lebanon.

The victim is 65-year-old Antonio Vieira. He died at the scene.

The driver of the pickup - 37-year-old Clarence Butler of Springvale - sustained nonlife-threatening injuries. He was transported by ambulance to Southern Maine Health Care in Sanford. Troopers said the crash took place around 8:30 p.m. on Route 202, at the intersection of Long Swamp Road. Route 202 was closed at the crash site for more than two hours. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The dangerous intersection has been the scene of several serious accidents over the years.
