ROCHESTER - Henry L.J. Martel, 82, died Sunday, December 8, 2014, at his home after a period of failing health.

Henry was born in Sanford, Maine on October 16, 1932, the son of Ulric and Cesarie (Bernier) Martel and had been living in Rochester since 1975, moving from Sanford, Maine. He was a veteran of the Air Force and before his retirement he worked as a distributor for Good's Potato Chips. Henry was a member of the Farmington Fish and Game Club and enjoyed fishing and fixing things.

Surviving members of the family include: his wife, Gloria (Vincent) Martel of Rochester, one son, Daniel Martel and two daughters, Lucinda Palubinski and Colinda Heliman all of Pa., three stepdaughters, Linda Farrell of Somersworth, Paula Henderson of Lebanon, Maine, and Katherine Cushman of Milton, one stepson, Daniel Whitehouse of Sanford, Maine, one brother Armand Martel and his wife Estelle Martel of Rhode Island, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
