ROCHESTER – The Rochester man arrested in a hit-and-run accident on North Main Street last month waived his probable cause hearing on Monday in Rochester District Court.
Richard D. Garland, 20, of 10 Silver St., Rochester, appeared in court on Monday, conferred with prosecutors and later left.
He is charged with one count of Conduct After an Accident, a class B felony, as well as one count of Driving After Revocation or Suspension (second offense), which is a class A misdemeanor.
The incident occurred on Sept. 19 around 6 p.m. on North Main Street, when the vehicle Garland was operating struck a female pedestrian who was crossing North Main Street in the crosswalk near Pine Street, police said.
A Somersworth woman was seriously injured in the crash and is now recovering from those injuries.
The case will now be bound over to Strafford County Superior Court.
