MILTON - Sunday was Children's Day at the New Hampshire Farm Museum, where kids of all ages enjoyed a blast from the past. Juan Cordero of Sanford, Maine, was there with his grandson, 6-year-old Jace, who showed off his skill with an old-fashioned wooden hula hoop, within seconds of taking the challenge. "I gotta admit he's pretty good," remarked his grandad.
Across the museum's grassy side lawn, Bennett Dupont, 3, of Concord was all smiles as he and his parents, Corey and Ashley Dupont, of Concord, got ready for a wagon ride courtesy of Belgian Meadows Farm of Lebanon and two Belgian draft horses, Babe and Duffy. "He's having a great time," said Corey Dupont as Bennett sucked happily on a lollipop. But there was much more than wagon rides and hula hoops for the 150 or so who enjoyed a leisurely day on the farm's grounds. There were relay and potato sack races, face painting, corn husk doll making and even coffee-
can tin lantern making with Larry Brown of Milton, who said making the decorative lamps is more of a pastime than a business. For those needing a bite to eat there was Richie's Famous Hot-Dog Cart. Milton Police Officer Ryan Clark was also on site to let kids get an up close and personal look at his cruiser. The New Hampshire Farm Museum has had a busy summer with their next big event expect to be a tasty one: an old-fashioned Pig Roast scheduled for Aug. 31.
