Lebanon Fest will include parade, raffle, kids games

LEBANON - The town's inaugural Lebanon Festival set for Sept. 13 is shaping up with an impressive array of activities for both children and adults.

The day kicks off with a Rescue Department breakfast at the Hanson School soccer field at 8:30 a.m.

Meanwhile, a parade will form at the Old Town Hall on Center Road at 9 a.m. Anyone involved in the parade is asked to be there by 8:30 to get lined up.

The parade will then proceed to the Hanson School soccer field.

A car show begins at 9 in the soccer field parking lot.
Other all-day events include a Fire Department smokehouse, a Rec Department bouncy house and Mr. and Mrs. Dee Balloon Twisters.

Butterfingers Da Klown will also be there doing face painting.

Other activities include a martial arts demo by Richard Smith's Family Martial Arts (11 a.m. and 1 p.m.), Wildlife Encounters (11:30 a.m.), an apple pie contest (1 p.m. and a Fire Department sprinkler demo at 2:30 p.m.

There will also be plenty of kids games throughout the day and a silent raffle drawing at 4:30 p.m.

Lebanon Festival sponsors include Spence and Mathews Insurance, Kennebunk Savings Bank, Batchelder Sales Inc., STS Construction, Phil's Fabrication, The Lebanon Voice, 4X4 Proving Grounds, Brian's Brake and Muffler and Thompson Auto Body LLC.

Contributors included Hilltop Fireworks, Dover Marine, Covered Bridge Sports, Farmfield Greenhouses, Lebanon House of Pizza, Goulet Auto Service and Milton Veterinary Clinic.

Most activities will take place in and around the soccer fields.

Admission is free but festivalgoers are asked to bring a nonperishable food item for the Lebanon Food Pantry.

The festival is a rain/shine event.
