LEBANON - A Lebanon man has been sentenced to prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Lawrence E. Young, 54, of 114 Upper Cross Road, was arrested on the charge in connection with a May 1 incident and indicted last August on two felonies: domestic assault and the gun possession charge. On Wednesday U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II announced that Young was sentenced in U.S. District Court by Judge D. Brock Hornby to 2½ years in state prison in connection with the gun charge. According to court records, Young was discovered hunting with a 16-gauge shotgun in the Acton area. Young was prohibited from possessing firearms based on prior felony convictions for illegally possessing a firearm in 2013 and violating conditions of release in 2011.
