Letter: I am not the inexperienced kid on the block

To the editor:

I am Bettie Harris-Howard, I am running for the Board of Selectman of Lebanon.  I was born and brought up in Maine and have been visiting Lebanon for about 15 yrs.

Four years ago I decided to retire in Lebanon. I am a graduate of the University of Massachusetts with both BS, MA degrees. After graduating I participated in research both nationally and internationally.  As one of the founders of a small corporation I have had experience in real estate, taxes and booking. Before my retirement I was an Administrator of health care facilities where I worked closely with city, state and federal agencies.   These are some of the experiences I will bring to Lebanon as a selectman.

Do you want an open transparent government for Lebanon? I do.

Do you want questions you have, answered timely?  I do.

Do you want fair and impartial decisions made for Lebanon? I do.

Do you want the town budget to be balanced but not on the backs of the tax payers? I do.

Do you want the conflict of interest problems to stop? I do.

Do you want dignity and decorum among town officials? I do.

The people of Lebanon deserve this and more.

I am running for the position of Selectman, I would be happy to talk to anyone who wants to know more about me and what I stand for. I also would appreciate any help you want to give me with my campaign. I can be contacted at bet103@metrocast.net.
