Looks like a drenchah, to put it mildly

Mist, fog, then rain and wind will overspread the region today. (Accuweather image)

If we'd been through weeks of bitter cold to get to today we'd call it a January thaw, but with mild temps the rule instead of the exception this winter, it's more like a January blah.

Not that anybody's complaining.

Punctuating the mild day today, however, will be a feisty southeasterly breeze which will ramp up this afternoon as darkness falls to around 25 mph with much higher gusts.

Temperatures will climb to 50 degrees in the northern Seacoast with periods of clouds this morning followed by downpours this afternoon. As much as an inch of rain is expected.

Temps will stay mild much of the night, but slide back to normal, around 30 degrees, in time for the Monday morning commute.

The rest of the week looks pretty uneventful with no big whoops except a dusting of snow on Tuesday and slightly warmer than seasonal temperatures through next weekend.
