MILTON - A Milton Mills man was arrested for drunken driving on Wednesday after the vehicle he was driving crashed, snapping a telephone pole in two on Townhouse Road near the intersection with White Mountain Highway not far from the Milton Police Station.

Raymond Robbins, 59, of 231 Willey Road, Milton Mills, was charged with a DWI. He was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what are described as nonlife-threatening injuries, said Milton Police Chief Richard Krauss today. Robbins’ injuries included facial cuts and a cut to the back of his head.

Milton Police got a call for debris in the roadway around 9:30 p.m., and when Milton Police Cpl. Andrew Magargee arrived on scene he saw Robbins in his vehicle, a late model Saturn Sky Sport Coupe.

Robbins is scheduled to appear in Rochester District court in connection with the charge later this month.
