ROCHESTER - A Milton woman was hospitalized after the vehicle she was a passenger in was rear-ended around 3:30 p.m. Saturday on Hancock Street.

Police said it appears a silver Pontiac van was being driven north on Hancock Street by Bernard Collins of Milton when it stopped and was struck from behind by a red Nissan Maxima driven by George Mackenzie of Greenland, N.H.  Marjorie Collins, a passenger in the van, was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital with what are described as nonlife-threatening injuries.

According to witnesses, a truck stopped suddenly in front of the Pontiac which caused the chain reaction crash.  The truck drove away from the area, and there was no description given on the truck.

Both vehicles suffered only minor damage and were able to be driven from the scene.

If anyone who witnessed this accident has information on it, please contact Officer Pendlebury at the Rochester Police Department at 330-7128.
