Milton woman who died in Thursday crash on White Mountain Hwy identified

MILTON - The Milton woman who died in a three-car crash on White Mountain Highway on Thursday has been identified.

Michelle Labrecque, 47, was killed when her car struck a tree in the area of Milton Hardware, Milton Police Chief Richard Krauss said in an email sent The Rochester Voice on Saturday.

The accident occurred just before 3 p.m. when police say James Barrett, 73, of Milton was headed south and preparing to make a left into the hardware store in his Ford F250 when it was rearended by a Honda Civic driven by Labrecque, who was driving at a high rate of speed, police say.

The impact caused the Honda to enter the northbound lane, where it collided with a Jeep Wrangler driven by Hunter Stevens, 21, of Milton, causing the Jeep to rollover several times.

Labrecque's Honda then continued off the road and struck a tree.

Two people were transported to area hospitals by Milton Ambulance with what were described as nonlife threatening injuries and one was transported by Farmington Ambulance with no condition given.

Labreque was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for several hours while the Strafford County Regional Accident Reconstruction team assisted with the investigation.

Anyone with information about the crash is urged to call Cpl. Nicholas Nirgianakis at 603.652.4500.
