LEBANON - A car and a pickup collided at the corner of Long Swamp Road and Route 202 around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, killing one man and injuring another.

The cause of the accident is still unknown, but Maine State Police Spokesman Steve McCausland said this morning that the name of the deceased and more details of the accident would be released later today.

Both drivers were men. Route 202 was shut down for almost two hours after the crash.

The dangerous intersection has been the scene of several serious accidents over the years.

It is especially treacherous for those headed south from Center Road and trying to cross the highway onto Long Swamp Road.
