A Rochester Police officer said police are still hoping to interview more witnesses to last Thursday’s hit-and-run incident in a city crosswalk that left a Somersworth woman injured.

Katherine Littlefield, 25, was struck by a Nissan Pathfinder, witnesses say, around 6 p.m. in a crosswalk on North Main Street just north of the intersection with Pine Street.

Bystanders said they saw the driver of the Nissan fleeing southbound after Littlefield was struck.

Rochester Police Capt. Paul Toussaint said at a busy time of day like that it’s probable a lot more people saw the accident than have been interviewed by police, He is hoping someone will come forward with a better description of the vehicle and driver and is urging anyone who might have information, no matter how insignificant they may think it is, to contact police to help shed light on this case.

He said police do have some leads and are hoping to make an arrest, but still need the public’s help.

Littlefield, meanwhile, who was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, after the incident, is no longer at the facility, a nursing supervisor said today.

She had been listed in satisfactory condition over the weekend.

The Rochester Police are asking anyone who may have information that could assist with this investigation, to call Officer Kusneirz at the Rochester Police Department at 330-7128. You can also provide information and remain anonymous by calling the Rochester Crime Line at 335-6500 or Text to: CRIMES (274637) Body of Text: TEXT4CASH + your tip. Cash rewards are offered for information that leads to an arrest.
