ROCHESTER - Ralph Stillings Jr., 86, died Sunday, July 1, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Exeter, a son of Ralph and Margaret (Silk) Stillings.
Ralph was an Air Force veteran serving in the Korean War. He had been employed as a salesman for Thom McCann Shoe, Montgomery Ward and later the Rochester School Dept. where he was beloved by teachers and students alike.
Survivors include his Wife of 60 years Stella (Lurvey) Stillings of Rochester; children, Sherry Lamontagne (Keith), Ralph Stillings III (Linda), Lori Stillings, Lisa Avery (Gary), Leland Stillings (Jeff); grandchildren he adored, Justin Rothermel (Amy), Meghan Rothermel, Tyler Stillings and Corey Stillings; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his "son" Raymond Rothermel and sisters Leona Bunker, Doris St.Armour, Julie Morris, and a brother Frank Stillings, and half-sister Marion Stillings.
Ralph was a devoted family man who especially enjoyed his grandchildren, regularly attending their sporting events and activities. He loved traveling, especially to Cape Cod, Wilmington, N.C., and Seattle, Wash.
The family extends a special thanks to Ralph's niece Margie and husband Hazen Wilson for their ongoing support during his difficult time.
