ROCHESTER - Richard W. Johnson, 82, of Crockett Street in Rochester, died July 5, 2014, at home.

Born November 17, 1931, in Sanford, Maine, the son of Carl and Florence (Elliott) Johnson, he was raised in West Lebanon, Maine, and also had resided on McKeagney Road in Milton, for years.

An Army vVeteran of the Korean War, he was a member and Sergeant of Arms with the American Legion in Milton. Also, a life member of the Berwick Maine Rod and Gun Club.

Prior to retirement, he was employed with the New Hampshire Department of Transportation with a local road crew.

At age 81, he went skydiving with his 18- year- old granddaughter.

Survived by his wife of 52 years: Anna M. (Chretien) Johnson, 10 children: Norman Johnson, Rose and husband Chester Cooke, Debbie Winship and partner Steve Dufour, Susan Johnson, Arthur and wife Dorothy Johnson, Timothy Johnson and partner Cathy, Carl and wife Terry Johnson, Mark and wife Michelle Johnson, Peggy Johnson, Lena Waterhouse and partner Sherry, 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, also many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 3 brothers: Leonard, Roland and Ernest Johnson.
