Rochester bicyclist injured in hit-and-run accident

ROCHESTER - A 42-year-old Rochester man was injured in a hit-and-run accident on Friday.

The mishap occurred around 7 p.m. when John Eubanks, 42, of 19 Norway Plains Road, was riding his bicycle and was struck by what is described as a white sedan at the corner of Portland Street and Columbus Avenue.

Police say the car failed to stop and continued east toward East Rochester after the incident.

Eubanks was treated at the scene by Frisbie EMS personnel. His bicycle wasn’t damaged, police said.

The white sedan could have sustained damage to the rear passenger side quarter panel area, a press release noted.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.      

The Rochester Police are asking anyone who may have information that could assist with this investigation, to call Officer Justin Seckendorf at the Rochester Police Department at 330-7128.
