SEABROOK - A Rochester man was arrested on Sunday in the fatal shooting of a Massachusetts man outside a Bay State hookah lounge early Saturday.

Charles Demos, 29, was arrested on a fugitive from justice charge on Sunday at a residence in Seabrook in the shooting of Jarrod Harris, 42, of Everett, Mass., who died as a result of wounds suffered around 1 a.m. outside the Karma Lounge in Everett.

According to Everett police, the preliminary investigation shows Harris was leaving Karma Lounge with a woman when a physical altercation occurred involving the couple, Demos and several others.

Police say during the altercation Demos allegedly went to a vehicle parked nearby and grabbed a firearm. He then allegedly pursued Harris, firing the gun multiple times and striking Harris twice, according to officials. He was pronounced dead at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Demos allegedly fled the scene in a vehicle later identified by police as a Volkswagen Passat registered to an individual in New Hampshire known to Demos.

On Sunday Demos was located at a Seabrook home and arrested on a fugitive from justice charge. Police also arrested the resident of the home, Joshua Demos, 35, on a federal probation violation unrelated to the case.

Charles Demos will be arraigned today in Rockingham County District Court, while Joshua Demos will be arraigned today in federal court in Concord.
