ROCHESTER - Rodney B. Lavigne, 69, of Briar Drive, died Monday, February 25, 2019 at his home unexpectedly. Born August 15, 1949 in Springfield, Mass., he was the son of the late Frederick and Julia (Landry) Lavigne.
Rodney has lived in Rochester for the past seven years after moving from Kittery, Maine then Portsmouth, N.H. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Rodney worked for Harris Graphics as a design engineer. Rodney played in a band called Jimmy Woods and the Woodsman as a professional drummer. He loved to play all types of music from gospel to rock and roll. He enjoyed tinkering with his electronic surround sound system and riding his motorcycle.
Members of his family include his wife of 10 years, Cecelia Lavigne of Rochester; his step son, Ray Russell of Dover; his daughter Shauna of Exeter, and step daughters Julie Cross and her husband Joe of Hampton and Sherri Lewis and her husband Peter of Liberty, Maine; his grandchildren Emily, Cameron, Dylan, Kayla, Abigail and Alison; a daughter in-law, Leanne Russell of Pa.; his brother, Berry Lavigne of Porter, Maine; his sisters Patricia Reed of Lake Whales, Fla., Bonnie Hines of Portsmouth and Carol Mains of Berwick, Maine.
