Single-vehicle crash on Sixth Street in Dover leaves one man dead

DOVER - One man died on Friday when their pickup truck crashed on Sixth Street in Dover.

The accident occurred around midnight near Longhill Road, where police found the truck had traveled off the roadway and into a utility pole.

The driver, a young adult male and the vehicle's sole occupant, was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other vehicles were involved.

Dover Police detectives are actively investigating the incident to determine the cause of the crash. The driver's name is being withheld pending family notification and further investigation.

Sixth Street remains closed between Longhill Road and County Farm Cross Road as Eversource crews work through the day to replace the damaged utility pole. The road is expected to remain closed for several hours.
