CONCORD - After spending less than a day at Portsmouth Regional Hospital where he was diagnosed with a bleeding ulcer, Governor Sununu was discharged on Saturday to continue his recovery at home.
The ulcer was identified as the cause of his flu-like symptoms experience earlier in the week following a trip to Kentucky where he went to observe hos that state was handling a recent COVID surge.
Sununu received a blood transfusion on Friday and was feeling much better, a a statement from his office noted.
"New Hampshire is blessed with amazing health care staff and generous blood donors," said the governor said on Saturday. "Valerie and I can't thank them enough and are grateful for everyone's prayers and positive outreach."
A COVID test taken earlier this week showed him to be negative.
