MANCHESTER - Eversource is joining TEDxPortsmouth as a sponsor of "Point of No Return." TEDxPortsmouth 2019, to be held today at The Music Hall in Portsmouth.

The forum will feature 16 local speakers representing a variety of industries, trades and experiences, from a snow scientist to a student-artist crafting a nontraditional education. This annual event is where the Seacoast comes together to connect and explore big ideas -- science, the arts, the environment, humanity, entrepreneurship -- in a shared experience emphasizing community, conversation and inspiration.

"We share TEDx Portsmouth's value of diverse thought and innovative solutions to the challenges that affect the communities we serve," said Eversource N.H. President Bill Quinlan. "Supporting this community-organized event that brings our neighbors together to consider new perspectives and inspires them to enact positive change is one of the many ways we are working together for a better tomorrow."

TEDxPortsmouth is a daylong event that provokes conversation about issues the community is facing and exposes attendees to new perspectives, inspiring them to think differently about the topics discussed and to make a real commitment to enacting positive change in their community. In addition to a diverse lineup of compelling speakers, this year's event will feature artistic performances, local food and more. Hosting "Point of No Return" will be mother and son duo Kathleen Soldati, author, marketer and former executive director of the Portsmouth Historical Society; and Emmett Soldati, a local entrepreneur and founder of Teatotaller, a café in Somersworth that is a hub of LGBTQ+ programming, social justice and community gatherings.

This year's attendees are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle or coffee mug to help make the event zero waste. For more information and updates about the event, visit TEDxPortsmouth online, as well as on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
