The city's trifecta of Halloween horror and high jinks gets under way next Friday

ROCHESTER - A Zombie Walk and Downtown Trick-or-Treat night highlight the city's spooky observance of Halloween, one of the year's most anticipated holidays among children and adults alike.
The Zombie Walk is scheduled for Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. when local dance studios join together to strut their stuff through the downtown to Michael Jackson's "Thriller.
The walk begins at Citizens Bank going out onto Bridge Street where the zombies dance their demonic best as they cavort down North Main Street.
The gyrating continues onto Hanson Street where it ends at the intersection of Central Street.
The city notes that Zombies other than those from dance studios are welcome to join in the walk, however they must walk at the front of the parade and are not allowed to mingle in with the dancers.
Meanwhile, the downtown will hold its own Trick-or-Treat on Oct. 25 from noon-3 p.m.
Rochester Main Street welcomes families to get dressed up to celebrate Halloween in the downtown where businesses will be handing out candy. ​
A List of all the participating businesses as well as Trick-Or-Treat Bags will be available at Central Square.
Finally, citywide trick-or-treating will be held on Oct. 30 from 4-7 p.m.
City officials encourage parents and guardians to accompany children door-to-door whenever possible.
They also urge motorists to slow down and use extra caution while driving through the city's neighborhoods.
