THE FIGHT GOES ON: Relay For Life celebrates 25th year saving lives, giving hope
Rochester Voice 9:14 a.m.
ROCHESTER - Relay For Life of Strafford County will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a fun and meaningful event themed "Carnival For a Cure" on June 21 at Spaulding High School from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Local culinary favorites like Kona Ice and Mama K's Ice Cream will be on hand, along with games, food (including birthday cake), music, and more for the whole family. "We share a passion to save lives and support those facing cancer," said Sarah Scheffer, Co-Chair. "This event brings our community together with purpose, love, and hope. Every step we take on the track helps create a future without cancer." In 2024, more than two million new cancer cases are expected to be diagnosed in the United States, and more than 600,000 Americans are expected to die from cancer. Last year, our event raised more than $75,000 for the American Cancer Society's mission, and we are committed once again to meeting this goal. Funds raised by Relay For Life volunteers help support the American Cancer Society's life-saving work, including cutting-edge research, advocacy efforts, and patient services like the Hope Lodges in Boston and Burlington, Vt., a 24/7 cancer helpline, and free rides to treatment for patients in need. The event is presented by Three Phase Line Construction. About the American Cancer Society
