Traffic trauma: Jackknifed tree-cutting truck closes Gen. Sullivan during rush hour

NEWINGTON, N.H. - A tree cutting truck pulling a trailer lost control and jackknifed on the General Sullivan on Tuesday, clogging the northbound lanes for more than an hour during rush hour.

The crash occurred around 3:10 p.m. when the truck lost control, jackknifed and strck two vehicles.

The truck came to rest lodged between the guardrails on each side of the roadway, completely blocking both northbound lanes of Route 16 for about an hour and 15 minutes.

No injuries were reported as a result of the crash, which remains under investigation, although police say it appears following too closely was the cause.
