Trains Tavern, ballot questions hearings tonight

Staff Reports

LEBANON - A pubic hearing will be held tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the Lebanon Elementary School gym on a Special Amusement Permit for Trains Tavern followed by a separate public hearing on two selectmen-drafted referendum items.

Among the two referendum items is one that would utilize a 2 percent surcharge on the video portion of the Metrocast bills of town residents to fund the videotaping of government meetings.

The other would make changes to the town’s Mass Gathering Ordinance, which dictates fees and requirements for large events in town like those held by Go Deep Mud and Skydive New England.

The two referendum items will be voted on Nov. 5.

Trains Tavern has been operating on temporary permits since it opened for business in 2011.
