Two arrested after drugs found during traffic stop

GONIC - Two Rochester women were arrested earlier this month after a drug arrest during a traffic stop in Gonic. Trisha Smith, 29, of 18 Osborne Street, was charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Drug RSA and one count of Transporting Drugs. During the Sept. 1 traffic stop officers found what is believed to be 10 grams of heroin and 2 Clonazepams pills on Smith, who was on personal recognizance pending an arraignment next month.
Also seized as part of the drug arrest was $1,094 in cash. Whitney Hanks, 25, of 18 Osborne St., was with Smith. Hanks was arrested on an unrelated Bench Warrant for Simple Assault. Her bail was set at $500 cash pending a later arraignment. The arrests were a joint effort of the Rochester Police and the Strafford County Drug Task Force.
