ACTON - The man seriously injured in a car crash in Acton on Friday remains in critical condition at a Portland hospital, a nursing supervisor said today.

First responders found passenger Phillip Davis, 35, of Hiram, Maine, unconscious when they arrived at the crash scene on H Road in the vicinity of Anderson Cove Road around 10:30 p.m. He had suffered extensive injuries and was airlifted by Life Flight to the Maine Medical Center in Portland.

The driver, Cuinn McConnell, 22, of Effingham, N.H., was transported to Southern Maine Health Center in Sanford where he was treated and released for a broken wrist.

Police say his 2006 Dodge pickup had left the roadway and struck a tree.

The crash is being reconstructed by the Maine State Police. A York County Sheriff's Office statement said alcohol and excessive speed are considered factors in this crash, which is still under investigation.
