BARRINGTON - Barrington Police are stepping up patrols in a town graveyard where a seven-year-old Strafford girl who died in a Rochester crash in February is buried after vandals last weekend stole flowers left at the gravesite the previous day.

Vandals also stole quarters left on her grave bearing her birth year and broke toys left at her grave.
"It's very disturbing," said Barrington Police Lt. Jake Banaian, who added that many people take walks at the town's Pine Grove Cemetery on a regular basis.

Madison Weeks died in February when a car she was traveling in collided with another vehicle on Route 202 near the Barrington line.

Banaian said on Friday that the vandalism happened between 2 p.m. on Aug. 30 when the mom left the flowers and the next day when she returned to find them missing along with the other damage.

He said police have interviewed several people and they are continuing their investigation.
