Voting begins tomorrow at 6 a.m.

Staff Reports

LEBANON - The Secretary of State is expecting a low turnout for tomorrow’s voting.

Only 13-15 percent of eligible voters are expected to go to the polls throughout Maine.

The towns of Acton, Lebanon and Shapleigh, however, have several important races to decide, including a Democratic nominee for county sheriff, a Republican nominee for House Seat 20 and town selectmen.

Town election officials will be out in force to ensure no political signage is within 250 feet of the polls entrance, except of course private property.

Candidates standing outside polling places can only introduce themselves by name and cannot say what office they are running for.

Lebanon polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Acton and Shapleigh polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

We urge voters to read the ballot questions carefully, ask for copies of pertinent ordinances and vote what your heart, mind and soul tell you is best for your town, county and state.

The Lebanon Voice urges everyone to get out there and exercise their right to vote!
