ROCHESTER - William Edward Melanson, 89, of Rochester died Friday, July 7, 2017 at the Hyder Hospice House after a brief period of failing health.
Bill was born in Quincy, Mass., January 15, 1928, the son of Martin and Mary (McCarthy) Melanson. He was a resident of Rochester since 1952. He was a Navy veteran, licensed electrician and tractor trailer driver who was also a master of all trades. He enjoyed woodworking, was an avid reader of history and most of all enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was the widower of Theresa (Bergeron) Melanson, predeceased by a son, Thomas and his siblings, Martin, Clement, Marie and Madeline.
Surviving members of the family include his daughters, Kathleen Martins and her husband Germano of Hooksett and Karen Burns and her husband Shawn of Barrington; four grandchildren, Cecilia and Armando Martins and Jeremy and Griffin Burns; a sister, Lucy Gagnon and a brother, John and many nieces and nephews.
