Woman struck in city hit-run in satisfactory condition

ROCHESTER - A Somersworth woman struck and seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident on North Main Street on Thursday was reported in satisfactory condition today at Maine Medical Center.

Katherine Littlefield, 25, was hit just before 6 p.m. as she was in a crosswalk near the intersection of Pine Street by what witnesses are describing as a black Nissan Pathfinder headed southbound, police said.

Littlefield remained on the pavement where she was hit until bystanders and police could attend to her. She was transported to Skyhaven Airport where a DHART helicopter flew her to Maine Medical Center with serious injuries.

North Main Street was closed for about 30 minutes while EMS attended to Littlefield’s injuries and police investigated the scene.

Today around 7 a.m. a hospital nursing supervisor at Maine Med in Portland confirmed to The Lebanon Voice Littlefield was in satisfactory condition.
