DOVER - A Dover transient pleaded guilty today to 12 felonies and two drug court violations that led to his termination from the program and the imposition of a two to four year prison sentence for the felonies and one-three years for losing his drug court status.
The 12 felonies committed by Caycie W. Stotler, 33, included several theft by unauthorized taking, a couple of credit card fraud charges, felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, receiving stolen property and burglary.
The 12 felonies are each punishable by three and a half to seven years in state prison.
The burglary occurred at Roberge Senior Housing in Rochester when in June Stotler admitted to going into a supply closet and making off with several power tools including saws and a drill.
Much of the fraudulent credit card usage was in connection with credit and debit cards he stole after breaking into parked cars, including some at Key Buick of Somersworth.
Most of the merchandise including several cars were exchanged for drugs at the former homeless camp near Willand Pond.
One night, in particular, he stole two cars from Key Buick. Stotler also stole a vehicle from O'Reilly Auto Parts.
In September of last year he broke into and ransacked a vehicle at the Hampton Inn in Dover, making off with several items that had been left in the car by a family who had spent the night there while en route to a vacation in Maine.
Another guest at the Hampton Inn had the same thing happen to his vehicle that same night.
In October 2021 Stotler carried out a nighttime vehicle break-in during which he stole a cellphone, $300 in cash and a 22 caliber revolver. He was spotted by police nearby wearing a purse and carrying a hatchet.
His termination from drug court cost him a one-three year prison sentence. The other cases will all carry two-four years and will run concurrently. If Stotler successfully completes a Substance Use Disorder course he'll get six months suspended from the two-four year sentence.
The maximum sentence for all 12 felonies could've been 84 years.
Stotler will have court-ordered restitutions to several financial institutions including $1,792 to Chase Bank, $410 to Southern New Hampshire Services and various other amounts to Bank of America and Service Credit Union.
He also is prohibited from being within 500 feet of Key Buick or the Roberge Center.
