Revolution's smoked salmon and avocado BLT with a side of fries (Rochester Voice photo),

ROCHESTER - Revolution Taproom and Grill has been around for a decade now, and it continues to be one of Rochester's trendiest night spots thanks to its large selection of draft beers and artisan cocktails and entrees.
They make artisan sandwiches, too, as I found out on Friday when I spied a smoked salmon and avocado BLT, something I had never seen on a menu before.
I'm definitely a fan of salmon and a fan of bacon, so I had a premonition that it would be good.
And boy, was it.
The sandwich comprised hickory smoked Maine salmon, applewood smoked bacon, ripe tomato, organic lettuce and San Francisco sourdough (or gluten free) bread.
As I thought it would, the flavor of the salmon stood up nicely to the bacon with the avocado and tomato bringing a nice smoothness to the palate.
The sandwich came with crispy french fries and a dill pickle for $17.
The salmon BLT may have been my first, but it won't be my last.
The only disappointment was that I was hoping to try one of their $6 Happy Hour specials, but none were gluten free.
