DOVER - Andrew Roy Gallagher, 47, of Dover died at home surrounded by loving family on July 4, 2021. Born on February 23, 1974, in Waterville, Maine, to parents William and Cynthia (King) Gallagher.
Andrew or Andy depending on which chapter of his life you were a part of, was a born teacher. To spend time with him in any capacity included a lesson, fun, and laughter. Whether the lesson was about yourself, the food you were about to eat that he made, the latest song that had him fired up, or his hobbies that he was passionate about, he was overcome with the need to share, help when you were in need, and ensure that everyone in his presence was having a good time. He did everything big, loud, and with unabashed enthusiasm. His energy was contagious in every facet of his life.
His younger years were spent discovering and developing his innate ability to channel music playing alto sax. Music was in his bones and brought him on adventures all over the world, touring in bands, most notably Vitamin C, teaching students in all different capacities, and recording and producing albums for a wide variety of artists over the years. When the music was playing, Andy was immersed at a level that was infatuating to watch.
Indeed Andy embodied many roles in his lifetime, not just through his career paths, but as a friend and mentor to many he came in contact with. His ultimate role was that of a father to his children Aidan and Ella, who were and remain his biggest and proudest accomplishments. His passion for raising his children was his primary focus and he shared in every moment and milestone of theirs in his zest for life-like way. Teaching, guiding, loving, laughing, and smiling.
He is survived by his loving wife Megan; his children Aidan and Ella Gallagher; his stepchildren Max and Sydney Rohrbacher; his father William Gallagher; his sister and brother-in-law Amy and Jason Grenier; and his niece and nephew Sage Grenier and Jackson Grenier.
He is predeceased by his mother.
