ROCHESTER - Anita Cassily, beloved resident, died on April 22, 2024, with family by her side at her home, at the age of 92. She was the widow of Philip J. Cassily who died in 1990 and is survived by her longtime significant other Lewis Young.

Born in Rochester on Dec. 2, 1931, to her parents Emile and Olivine (Valliere) Guillemette.

She was a devoted and caring mother of two boys Gary F Cassily and Michael P Cassily.

She dedicated 40 years of her life to General Electric in Somersworth. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Church of Rochester, including volunteering to serve food with local churches and gave her time generously in service to her community as a volunteer at Gerry's Food Pantry. She was also nick-named Ta' and was very prideful of her home, being told she had the nicest looking yard on Harding Street. If you happened to see her out in her yard, her purple outfit would match the beautiful flowers blooming all around her.

Anita, also known as Mémère to most, was much admired by her family and friends for her fierce independence and strong spirit throughout her life in Rochester.

She is survived by her two children, Gary F Cassily of Lovell, Maine, and Michael P Cassily of Berwick, Maine. Three grandchildren include Jonathan Cassily of Dover, Kaitlin Howard and her husband Michael Howard of South Berwick, Maine, and Meaghan Moody and her husband Patrick Moody of Intervale. Great grandchildren include Karsyn and Kennedy Howard of South Berwick.

Survivers of the Young family includes Louis and his sons, Keith Young and Mike Young with children Sharie La, Mike J, Bonny, and Christy, and his daughters Marsha Young and Barbara Young with husband Mike Flynn.

She was predeceased by her siblings Florence, Leona, Ovila, Raymond and Sonny and Tommy Young of the Young family.
