LEBANON - David Hutchinson of Berwick, Maine, will be the new Lebanon Rescue Department chief.

The Town of Lebanon and Hutchinson reached agreement on Wednesday, according to a late-night email sent from Lebanon Selectman Ben Thompson.

“Chief Hutchinson brings many excellent attributes which not only will benefit the rescue department, but the whole town as well,” Thompson said.

Hutchinson’s resume includes several years of Fire and EMS experience. He currently maintains an EMT Intermediate (Advanced) license, but is also a Paramedic intern hoping to be licensed at some point in the near future.

Hutchinson graduated first in fire academy, receiving an award for academic excellence. He also graduated first in EMT Intermediate Class.

He is also a certified training officer in both Fire and EMS fields and a Captain in the Army National Guard as well as a veteran of the War on Terror, having served in Iraq.
“The Board of Selectmen are proud to welcome Chief Hutchinson to the position of rescue chief in our Town,” Thompson’s email concluded.

Hutchinson will spend the last week of June transitioning into the department with the help of former interim rescue chief Ray Parent and is expected to begin full duties on July 1.
