ROCHESTER - The city of Rochester on Monday released some of the major costs associated with Saturday's Lilac Family Fun Festival, which included free kiddie rides and a spectacular fireworks display to end the night.
According to documents obtained by The Rochester Voice, the city spent $10,000 of taxpayer money for the fireworks display and another $10,000 for the three kiddie rides.
The kiddie rides, provided by Larry Cushing Entertainment of Wilmington, Mass., cost $12,000 discounted to $10,000.
Meanwhile, the cost of the fireworks display, provided by Central Maine Pyrotechnics of Hallowell, was fully inclusive providing the actual pyrotechnics, site survey, permit filings, insurance, licensed technicians and notifications to all necessary authorities.
