Carter Ames ... longtime Victory Club member; at 75

DOVER - Carter W. Ames, 74, passed away Wednesday December 24, 2025, following a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

He was born in Rochester on April 1, 1951, to Simeon Ames and Alma (Lafontaine) Ames.

Carter worked for the City of Somersworth Public Works Department for 35 years. He was very dedicated to his job, as well as his wood business. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of Victory Club in Rochester.

He was married to Nancy for 39 years, together they had 2 daughters. Kelly (John) Verbicky and Kandi O'Brien. His grandchildren Spencer, JJ and Isabella. His siblings include a brother Francis and sisters Garnar (Robert) Desjardins and Raeann Warren. He had several nieces and nephews and many friends, and his expected first great grandchild in March of 2026.
